We invite you to join us in praise and celebration through the gift of music! All are welcome.
Choir sings an anthem on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month. We sing a variety of music – traditional, classical, bluesy, global, & contemporary. Practice is on Thursday nights from 7-8. Join us for the whole season, for special events, or when your schedule allows. We enjoy singing together, we support each other, and we have a lot of fun!
Gospel Band leads the service on the 2nd Sunday of the month. This group is comprised of singers, guitars, drums, harmonica, & an occasional banjo. Besides still singing songs from the hymnal & Gospel music, there is some global music, some country music, and there are some oldies.
Contemporary Band leads the service on the 4th Sunday of the month. Besides still singing songs from the hymnal, we sing songs that are current – 20 years old. This group is also comprised of singers, guitars, bass guitar, & drums.
LEAD SINGERS or CANTORS
Most weeks when there’s not a band, there will be a lead singer or two on a microphone to lead the congregation in singing.
Do you play piano, organ, trumpet, trombone, flute, guitar, bass guitar, drums, fiddle, dulcimer or anything else? There is a place for you!
“He who sings, prays twice” is commonly attributed to St. Augustine. In that case our congregation prays a lot, because we sing during communion every week, sing the psalms often, occasionally sing a cappella on a verse, and have even been known to sing rounds!
Melinda Hoelscher leads these groups, and would love to find a spot for you to use your musical gift. You can always find her at the piano after church. Or you can e-mail her at email@example.com
