Partners
Kising'a Parish in Tanzania
Lutheran Church of Peace has partnered with Kising’a Parish in Tanzania since 1999. This partnership is part of a larger partnership between the St Paul Area Synod and the Iringa Lutheran Diocese called Bega Kwa Bega (Shoulder to Shoulder).
We have walked with our Tanzanian partners by helping construct their church building, providing a motor bike for their Pastor, and financing student scholarships over the years. LCP has sent two groups to visit our partners and the Kising'a pastor and an evangelist have visited us in St Paul. To learn more about our joint ministry with Kising'a Parish CLICK HERE.
Carver Elementary
Carver Elementary holds a special place in our hearts. We have a number of members who volunteer their time at Carver on a regular basis. We appreciate our partnership with Carver’s social workers who make connections to our community possible. We feel blessed to have Carver Elementary as our neighbor!
Two of the many ways we support Carver Elementary are through our partnership with Every Meal and through the Carver Peace Awards.
LCP and Every Meal distribute over 10,000 meals a year to students at Carver Elementary.
In each class one student is selected for the Peace Award for displaying exemplary care and kindness. Each student receives a certificate and $10 from LCP.
Peace House
When the new community called Lutheran Church of Peace found themselves on this plot of land in 1954, the first thing they did was build a house. The first pastor and his family lived here.
Currently LCP is partnered with Fisherman's Net/A Way Out Sober Living in order to provide the Peace House as transitional sober housing.
